The body of this Volvo 1800 S has been restored to better than new condition. The bodywork was delivered disassembled by the customer. We have started removing all glue residues and the old bottom protection. The bodywork was then completely stripped in a paint stripper bath. The body turned out to be in a beautiful and rust-free condition. Subsequently, the sheet metal work was carried out. Both rear fenders had poorly repaired minor collision damage that required repair. The rear panel between the taillights has been replaced due to a previous bad repair. After the sheet metal work was completed, the body was given a KTL coating where the body was completely submerged in a special bath, leaving a black anti-corrosion coating on every metal surface inside and out and in every seam. The bodywork was then further tightened, primed and provided with a perfect new paint system. The Volvo 1800 S is being finished by the owner.
MODEL INFORMATION
The Volvo P 1800 is without doubt the most elegant, beautiful and dynamically designed Volvo of the twentieth century.
The Volvo P 1800 came on the market in 1961 as a coupé version. The P 1800 was initially built at Jensen in England. The P1800 became world famous through the series “The Saint”, starring Roger Moore, from the 1960s. After 6000 units, production of the P 1800 was moved to Sweden in 1963 and the car was called P1800 “S” (Sverige).
In September 1969, the P1800 E came on the market with a Bosch petrol injection system, modified dashboard and equipped with disc brakes all around. In 1971, the P1800 ES station wagon/coupé was introduced.
